Hastings Health Centre is the largest privately-owned health facility in NZ. It features 57 consulting rooms, urgent care after hours facility, pharmacy, radiology, blood lab, audiology, physio, podiatry, café and 143 carparks.

Simon carried out the structural design and construction monitoring of this project. This included detailed structural analysis and seismic design of the 3 storey steel framed structure.

In 2013, EIT expanded its Student Amenities area to include a new atrium which joined the Cafeteria, Lecture Theatre and Library using a cantilevered gridshell roof.

The Amenities Building was further extended in 2020 with a two storey addition to the cafeteria area, with dining space on the ground floor and a shared study space on the first floor. Simon was the lead engineer on both of these projects and instrumental to the building design.

Waimarama Lifeguard Tower sails over the beach sand dunes to allow lifeguards monitor the beach while being founded in the solid ground of the domain behind.

It was constructed in 2016, using a precast concrete frame with a lightweight steel and timber hut structure above. It also includes a screw piled foundation to allow for tidal inundation. Simon was the principal Engineer for this project and lead the design and site observation.

Clubs Hastings was constructed in 2016 to allow the amalgamation of Hastings RSA, Heretaunga Club and Hibernian Club.

This purpose built facility includes a new bar and restaurant along with associated commercial kitchen, offices and meeting rooms. The structure includes a 38m clearspan roof truss on perimeter columns with a mezzanine area to the front and a large accessible ceiling space. Simon was the primary Structural Engineer for this project and a key part of the design team.

Situated on the corner of Bridge Street and Coronation Street, this mixed use development consisted of a two storey structure with commercial properties on the ground floor and residential on the first floor.

Simon completed the structural design for this development and was the primary contact during construction.
